Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four children born on August 9th, 1976 in Beaumont Puy of Domme. The parents of Audrey Tautou as a dentist as well as a teacher, understood and encouraged their daughter's love for acting and drama on a young stage. Their support was enough to thwart her initial ambition to be a the first primatologist. Her fame grew as a child actor quickly and achieved huge success. It was only in 1999 after which she began acting professionally. After her studies, Tautou took part in the French television show for talent scouting called Jeunes Premiers. Tautou attended the Institut Catholique de Paris, was a churchgoer in her youth and was brought up Catholic. She has now distanced herself with her Catholic upbringing. She has pursued a modeling career along with her acting career. She is the model for L'Oreal Mont Blanc and Chanel is often called the Chanel Muse. Also, she has an intense photographic passion and has recently presented an exhibit of her work for the Arles Festival, titled Superficial. Her work focuses on celebrity and popularity. The exhibition also includes an assortment of self-portraits as well as a particular focus on the media that has closely scrutinized Tautou following her rapid rise in stardom after Amelie. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom and global fame after her first major role starring as the lead in The Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Pouulain. Amelie has been undoubtedly a huge box office smash internationally and praised at many award shows around the world. Amelie was the highest-rated french-language film to hit the US. After the release of this film, Tautou starred in a variety of films, ranging from British dramas and Jean Pierre Jeunet's film Un long dimanche de fiancailles. Then she moved into Hollywood and starred with Tom Hanks alongside Ron Howard in The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.
